Critics loathed it, but the Visual Effects Society loved Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, at least enough to give it a field's best six nominations. Transformers and I Am Legend follow with five each, with all three competing with The Golden Compass and Spider-Man 3 for the top prize.
