Disney/Pixar's
Ratatouille continued its reign over this year's animation prizes, sweeping the 2007
Annie Awards with nine total awards, plus trophies for its video game and DVD exclusive cartoon
Your Friend the Rat. The only other feature to win anything was
Surf's Up, the surprise Oscar contender, which won two awards.
Since the creation of the Animated Feature Academy Award in 2001, the Annies have correctly foretold every eventual Oscar winner except one (that was last year's, where Annie winner
Cars lost to
Happy Feet at the Oscars), so signs are good that Pixar will once again end up the top cheese come February 24.
