
The original Odd Couple (who co-starred in nine other movies together, including The Fortune Cookie, The Front Page and Grumpy Old Men) surged ahead in the final voting past strong contenders William Powell & Myrna Loy and Katharine Hepburn & Cary Grant. In fact, for a while there it looked like there would be a three-way tie for the number one spot.
