Shine On, Cheyenne!

Great news for fans of Cheyenne Jackson: the Broadway hunk and Movie Dearest favorite will remain in Xanadu indefinitely.

Jackson, who stepped into the role of Sonny in the disco musical during previews when original lead James Carpinello was injured in an onstage roller skating mishap, received rave reviews for his comic performance and sterling vocals in the show. However, until now it was not sure how long he would remain in the show. The show's producers also announced that they intend to use Carpinello in a future international production of the musical.

What this means is that not only will more people be able to see Jackson in the hit show, but he should also perform on the eagerly awaited original cast album.

Additionally, the Tony Awards Administration Committee recently announced that Jackson will be eligible to be nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Musical. Considering the circumstances of his coming into the musical, it was not clear until now how the awards would consider him.
