Awards Watch: Spielberg Gets DeMille

Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning producer/ director Steven Spielberg will be honored at this year's Golden Globe Awards with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award for his lifetime achievement in film. The award will be presented during the ceremony Sunday, January 13, which will air live on NBC.

Spielberg is no stranger to the Globes, having won six of them, two for directing (Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan) and four for producing (those two, plus E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Letters from Iwo Jima). He has also been nominated twelve more times, for the films Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Color Purple, Empire of the Sun, Amistad, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence and Munich. He is currently working on the eagerly awaited fourth Indiana Jones movie, due next year.
