D Rad Set to Bare All Stateside

It's official: Daniel Radcliffe will star in the upcoming Broadway transfer of the hit West End revival of Equus. Radcliffe will recreate his eye-opening performance from the recent London production of the Peter Shaffer play next fall, wherein he will be seen doing such un-Harry Potter-like things as smoking cigarettes and going the "full monty".

Hairy Harry will be joined by his Potter co-star Richard Griffiths, who won a Tony Award his last time on the Great White Way for his handsy school teacher in The History Boys (which he also played in the film version).

Equus itself was made into a movie in 1977, which netted its stars (Richard Burton and Peter Firth) Oscar nominations. Could more Tony love -- and maybe a big screen remake -- be in the future for this version? Stay tuned.

UPDATE: It has been announced that Equus will begin performances on Broadway next September, for a limited engagement through the following February.
