Ira Levin, author of the novels that were the basis for the films Rosemary's Baby, The Stepford Wives and The Boys from Brazil, passed away Monday. His plays No Time for Sergeants and Deathtrap were also made into movies.
Saturday marked the death of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Norman Mailer. In addition to his prolific literary career, he also wrote, directed and starred in such independent features as Tough Guys Don't Dance, based on his own novel.
Delbert Mann, the Academy Award-winning director of Best Picture winner Marty, died Sunday. His other credits include The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, Desire Under the Elms, Separate Tables and the Doris Day comedies Lover Come Back and That Touch of Mink.
