Out in Film: Charles Nelson Reilly

Idol worship: Charles Nelson Reilly, actor/director/ game show icon.
- What he's known for: The quick-witted, pipe-smoking, scarf-wearing panelist who upstaged everyone from upstage left on The Match Game.
- Film debut: Uncredited bit part in A Face in the Crowd.
- Other movie roles: Don Don Canneloni in Cannonball Run II, voiced characters in such toons as Charlotte's Web and All Dogs Go to Heaven.
- Choice TV roles: Uptight Claymore Gregg on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, evil magician Horatio J. Hoodoo on Lidsville, eccentric author Jose Chung on The X-Files.
- What else has he done: Originated the role of Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly! on Broadway.
- Awards on his mantel: Tony Award for his Bud Frump in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, three Emmy nominations.
- Bet you didn't know: After being nominated for a Tony for directing The Gin Game, claimed he never actually read the play.
- Side job: Taught acting for many years.
- Can we quote you on that: "When I die, it's going to read, "Game Show Fixture Passes Away". Nothing about the theater, or Tony Awards, or Emmys. But it doesn't bother me."
- Yes, it's true: At age 13, escaped a fire that broke out in a circus tent; the resulting stampede killed over a hundred people. Because of the incident, he never sat in an audience again through the remainder of his life.
- Latest project: Even after death (earlier this year), Charles doesn't quit: the film version of his autobiographical one-man stage show, The Life of Reilly, is currently playing in limited engagements. Visit his official site for more information and to watch the trailer.
