MD Poll: Gale Force

With over 50% of over 200 votes, Queer as Folk's Brian Kinney remained on top (I'm sure he'd be just fine with that) in last week's bonus poll that asked Movie Dearest readers to pick their favorite gay TV character out of AfterElton.com's recent top ten. I'm not going to get into the social or cultural significance of why this particular character remains so popular among fans, as that bridge has already been crossed repeatedly over at AfterElton and elsewhere. However, I would like to point out that the lasting popularity of Brian is a testament to the acting of Gale Harold, who proved his range in his two-episode stint on Grey's Anatomy recently, where he played the polar opposite to his unabashedly queer QAF role, a white supremacist.

The only other character to hit double digits was Brother and Sisters' Kevin Walker (my personal pick) in second place, with QAF's Justin and Torchwood's Captain Jack tying for third. Six Feet Under's David Fisher rounds out the top five.

Thought it would be funny to share that after years of watching "Queer as Folk," my plastic surgeon's name would be Brian Kinney, for real.
