Awards Watch: More of the Same

In a year that at first seemed to yield a bumper crop of fine films as critically acclaimed as they were diverse, more and more of the year-end award slates are looking very familiar as each is revealed one after another. Case in point: the Online Film Critics Society Awards; see if any of these sound familiar: No Country for Old Men, Daniel Day-Lewis, Julie Christie, Javier Bardem, Amy Ryan ...

Not that these films and performances aren't worthy (they are), but it is nice when the wealth is, you know, spread around a bit more. Here's hoping this Sunday's Golden Globe Awards throw in some surprises into the mix, or this year's gold derby could get awfully predictable.

See the comments section below for the full list of the OFCS Awards for 2007.
