One of the best Best Pictures you've probably never seen, this riveting historical drama relates the story of Sir Thomas More (Paul Scofield, Academy Award for Best Actor), the devout scholar who stood up against Henry VIII during the whole Boleyn affair (and yes, that is roughly the same time period as this week's The Other Boleyn Girl ... I swear I'm not that film's publicist).Other Oscar wins for the film included director Fred Zinnemann, cinematography, costume design and the screenplay by Robert Bolt, adapted from his Tony Award-winning play.
