Logan and Co.

Hugh Jackman's loner Logan won't be so lonely in his spin-off movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

In addition to the already known Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, the flick will also feature Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool (described as "known for his wisecracks, black humor, and satirical pop-culture references" ... sounds right up Reynolds' alley), Friday Night Lights hottie Taylor Kitsch as fan favorite Gambit and Black Eyed Pea will.i.am as John Wraith, a.k.a. Kestrel (the only one I'm familiar with is Gambit, so those are Wikipedia links for you to go geek out on). Rounding out the cast is Danny Huston as William Stryker (played by Brian Cox in X2: X-Men United) and Lynn Collins as Silver Fox.

At least in the case of Deadpool, the idea is to possibly spin him off into his own movie if he proves popular (so much for Reynolds as DC's The Flash), much like how Samuel L. Jackson's Sergeant Fury will appear in the Iron Man movie. And while this latest casting news is great as far as all the eye candy that will be present in Wolverine, I just hope they don't crowd out, you know, Wolverine.

UPDATE: Now with even more mutants! Daniel Henney and Lost's Dominic Monaghan have now also joined the cast.

UPDATE 2: This movie just may be the hunkiest ever filmed: according to MovieWeb (via Queer Two Cents), Kevin Durand (most recently seen on Lost and in 3:10 to Yuma) has signed up as the character known as the Blob. No why they would cast such a looker for such a porker is beyond me.
