Within Playbill.com's illuminating article on the so-called "curse of Macbeth", this little tidbit stands out:
"On the opening night of a production (of Macbeth) in Bermuda in 1953, the burning-castle scene got out of control, causing the audience to flee, and the lead -- Charlton Heston -- to get burned in the groin."
I wonder if the theater smelled of baked ham afterward ...
