Based on a Hayley Mills movie, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind is best known for the breakout song "No Matter What", which was released as a worldwide #1 pop single by the British boy band Boyzone (it was also featured on the soundtrack to Notting Hill), becoming the most successful show tune in history.
However, the show itself has been less successful; it never made it to Broadway and, as the recent American tour comes to an early close, it appears that the story, about a Louisiana girl who finds a mysterious stranger (Eric Kunze) in her barn who calls himself "Jesus Christ", just doesn't translate -- no matter what -- to this side of the pond.

We saw the show in Detroit. It was the first time I heard Eric Kunze sing (as "The Man"). I was so impressed by his talent! Every review I've read mentions him specifically as being outstanding and the "Savior" of the show. Anyone wanting more information about him can view my blog on Eric at:
