Best of the Fests: The Sensei

If you were ever bullied in high school and dreamt of fighting back, then this is the movie for you.

Set in a small town circa the beginning of the AIDS crisis, The Sensei tells the story of a gay high school student (Michael O'Laskey) who seeks the teachings of the title character (Diana Lee Inosanto, a stunt woman who also wrote, directed and produced the film) to protect himself from the homophobia that surrounds him.

To learn more about The Sensei, which has its world premiere today at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, visit its official website and watch the trailer here.
