Following what many (not us) consider the surprising success of the Sex and the City movie, it appears the timing couldn't be better for the all-star remake of The Women. Even the picture of Jada Pinkett Smith, Annette Bening, Meg Ryan and Debra Messing above has a certain Carrie & Co. vibe to it.The update of the 1939 George Cukor classic, this time written and directed by Diane English, also stars Eva Mendes, Carrie Fisher, Candice Bergen, Cloris Leachman, Bette Midler, Joanna Gleason, Debi Mazar and Ana Gasteyer (in other words, a veritable who's who of Women We Love). Due in theaters September 12, here's the first look at the film's trailer.
