Comic Strip Mined

The summer of the superhero is about half over, and so far we've seen the daring exploits of Iron Man, the Hulk and Hellboy, with the big daddy of the season (nay, the year), The Dark Knight, still on the horizon.

And don't forget, following Batman's return we have a slew of upcoming comic based movies featuring everyone from the Watchmen and Wolverine to Magneto and the Mighty Thor.

But, as Cracked.com so astutely points out in their list of "8 (Pointless) Laws All Comic Book Movies Follow", maybe its time Hollywood give the old tried-and-true formulas a rest. From the "multiple villains" clause to the old "losing their powers" bit, there ain't a comic cliché they don't unmask.
