Back in the Saddle

Viggo Mortensen teams up with his A History of Violence nemesis Ed Harris in the new western Appaloosa. The duo are the new sheriffs in town, facing off against nasty rancher Jeremy Irons while simultaneously wooing widow Renée Zellweger.

Sure, it sounds like an oater we've all seen before, but with that cast and Harris directing (he also co-wrote the script, adapted from the novel by Robert B. Parker), it is already garnering some award buzz. And the brand new trailer looks impressive.

Appaloosa, which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, is scheduled to open in theaters September 17.
