Bernie Mac: 1957-2008

Bernie Mac, the Peabody Award winning actor, comedian and star of film and television, died earlier today at the age of 50.

In addition to his Peabody, Mac won several awards for his self-titled sitcom, The Bernie Mac Show, including four Image and two Satellite Awards, plus two nominations each at the Emmys and Golden Globes.

On film, Mac is best known as one of the members of Ocean's Eleven in that popular series. Other movies include Get on the Bus, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Bad Santa, Mr. 3000, Guess Who and Transformers, as well as the documentary The Original Kings of Comedy.
