The Latest in Theaters: Bros & Sisters

Two potential crowd-pleasers are livening up the late summer movie season this weekend, and they are about as different as night and day ... or male and female:
  • Pineapple Express: Seth Rogan and James Franco are two potheads on the run from a killer cop in this latest comedy from the Judd Apatow machine. Gary Cole, Rosie Perez and Nora Dunn co-star.
  • The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2: Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Blake Lively are back for a second round, this time searching Greece for their lost pair of jeans. Seriously.
  • Hell Ride: Easy rider Dennis Hopper returns to biker mode (along with Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones and Eric Balfour) for this wannabe cult exploitation throwback. Hopper also appears in ...
  • Elegy: Sexy student Penélope Cruz throws the life of college professor Ben Kingsley into a whirl. Also starring Patricia Clarkson, Peter Sarsgaard and Deborah Harry (yes, that Deborah Harry).
  • Bottle Shock: An impressive cast -- Chris Pine, Alan Rickman, Bill Pullman, Freddy Rodríguez, Dennis Farina, Eliza Dushku and Bradley Whitford -- headline this Sideways-esque Sundance fave about wine.
  • And finally: a group of gay friends head out for a 3-Day Weekend of sex, lies and camping in writer/director Rob Williams' third feature, following Back Soon and Long-Term Relationship.
