First Look: Drew as Little Edie

As all the Dark Knight and Sex and the City snaps flooding the internet prove, it's hard to grasp exactly what is going on in unofficial onset photos like this one, our first glimpse at Drew Barrymore taking on the iconic role of Little Edie Beale in the upcoming Grey Gardens remake.

With all that hair, I assume this is from a possible "early days" portion of the new feature, before the events seen in the Maysles' documentary(like in the stage musical version). But if that is a turban in her hands and not -- a swim cap? -- then maybe it is a scene from that timeframe, although surely her hair would need to be pinned up to fit in that thing. Again, hard to tell at this point ...

The new film, which still hasn't been confirmed as a feature or HBO TV movie, is currently shooting on location in Toronto.
