In conjunction with yet another "Year of a Million Dreams" (remember when the Disney theme park celebrations used to be about something?), acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz has snapped some more celebrities in highly-stylized fantasyland tablaux depicting scenes from beloved Disney classics.
Former Mary Poppins Julie Andrews is the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio (along with little Abigail Breslin as ... Tinker Bell?), while Rachel Weisz frolics with the flora and fauna as Snow White. Tennis star Roger Federer (yeah, I don't know who he is either) channels King Arthur with the Sword in the Stone (I guess it doesn't matter that in that movie, Arthur is never actually seen as an adult). They join last year's star-studded subjects, Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, studly David Beckham as Sleeping Beauty's Prince Phillip and a constipated-looking Beyoncé Knowles as Alice in the "Mad Tea Party" scene from Alice in Wonderland, along with Oliver Platt as the Mad Hatter and Lyle Lovett as the March Hare.
I'm not exactly sure just how these pictures benefit Disneyland and Walt Disney World per se, but they are pretty awesome nonetheless. For large, high quality images of each of this year's pictures, visit LaughingPlace.com. Last year's pictures are also available.
