The NeverEnding Play

The NeverEnding Story, the 1984 fantasy film directed by Wolfgang Petersen, always kind of creeped me out, especially that freaky-looking flying dog with the grody skin condition on his back. Nevertheless, it has become a childhood favorite of many, and now it is coming to the stage.

Seattle Children's Theater will present the new production starting tomorrow, but with a few changes. First off, instead of the land of Fantasia, it is now the land of "Fantastica" (worried about a Disney lawsuit, I suppose). Of course, that just makes it sound even gayer then before, if that's possible. Oh, and it's a musical. Except don't go in expecting to hear the golden tones of Limahl, but that of the sisters Wilson, better known as Heart of "All I Want to Do is Make Love to You" fame (I don't think that one is in this show, but wouldn't it be awesome if it was?).

The show will run through January 27, but being a children's theater production and all, I don't think their closing night cast party will look like this one.
