Women We Love: Julia Roberts

Object of our affection: Julia Roberts, actress/pretty woman.
- Why we love her: For her smart 'n sassy performances, winning smile and that killer head of hair.
- When did we first notice her: As a girl from the wrong side of the tracks in Mystic Pizza.
- Awards on her mantel: Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG Awards (among others) for her tour de force title role in Erin Brockovich. She was also Oscar nominated and won Globes for Steel Magnolias and Pretty Woman. Plus, an even dozen People's Choice Awards.
- Other choice roles: A runaway wife in Sleeping With the Enemy; a conniving food critic in My Best Friend's Wedding; just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her in Notting Hill.
- We forgive you: Five words: Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell.
- What else has she done: Stint on Broadway in the play Three Days of Rain; guest-starred on Miami Vice, Friends and Law & Order.
- Bet you didn't know: Originally wanted to be a veterinarian or a journalist; insisting it gives her a "relaxed" look, she has her make-up applied while lying on her back.
- Yes, it's true: Romantically linked to several famous names, including Benjamin Bratt, Daniel Day Lewis, Liam Neeson, Matthew Perry and Kiefer Sutherland; offered roles in Basic Instinct, Sleepless in Seattle, Batman and Robin and Shakespeare in Love.
- Million dollar baby: With Erin Brockovich, she was the first actress to reach the $20 million salary mark in Hollywood.
- Family ties: Sister to Eric, aunt to Emma, ex-wife to Lyle Lovett, wife to cinematographer Daniel Moder.
- Can we quote you on that: "I'm too tall to be a girl, I never had enough dresses to be a lady, I wouldn't call myself a woman. I'd say I'm somewhere between a chick and a broad."
- Where we can see her next: Resurrecting her Steel Magnolias accent in Charlie Wilson's War; accepting the American Cinematheque Lifetime Achievement Award on AMC tonight.
