Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof returns to Broadway tonight with an all African American cast, a first for the Great White Way.Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad and Anika Noni Rose star along with Terrence Howard (making his Broadway debut) in the steamy Southern drama. Howard plays Brick, who had a thing for his now dead football buddy Skipper.
Transplanted from the 1950's to the recent past, the new, limited engagement revival is directed by Debbie Allen (yes, that Debbie Allen). Previews begin tonight for a planned March 6 opening at the Broadhurst Theatre.
