The Independent Spirit Awards will air live (without commercials and uncensored) tomorrow on (naturally) the Independent Film Channel. Hosted by Juno co-star Rainn Wilson, a tape-delayed version of the broadcast will air later in the day on AMC, presumably censored and with commercials (it being AMC and all).
With the nominations announced way back in November, you'll be forgiven if you don't remember them (here's a helpful reminder). Juno is the only Academy Best Picture hopeful in the bunch, which may give it an edge, but I wouldn't count out surprises from The Diving Bell and the Butterfly or I'm Not There.
Given its indie roots, the Spirit Awards are often a raucous and foul-mouthed alternative to its stuffier older sibling Oscar. Bring it on.
