Broadway Will Have a White Christmas This Year

"Count Your Blessings", cause it's going to "Snow! Snow! Snow!" on the Great White Way this holiday season. Following successful runs in various regional theaters across the country the past couple of years, Irving Berlin's White Christmas will make its Broadway debut this November.

Based on the beloved film classic that starred Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen and featured such Berlin standards as "Sisters", "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me" and the Academy Award winning title tune, the stage version will play a limited run from November 14 through January 4. Walter Bobbie, who won a Tony Award for the blockbuster revival of Chicago, will direct.

No casting has been announced at this time, although we do know we can count out Brian d'Arcy James, who originated the Crosby role in the show's world premiere 2004 San Francisco production; he'll be a little busy playing the title role in Shrek the Musical. But you can hear him on that production's original cast album.

In closing, here's a little video preview to get you in the Christmas mood.
